The Ordinary & Illamasqua Moisturiser & Primer Review

My first video is finally published! This article will accompany the video so those who want it can have more in depth information about the products reviewed.

rdn-natural-moisturizing-factors-ha-30mlThe Ordinary is a collection of no frills, simplified skincare products by “Deciem” or “The Abnormal Beauty Company” as they are also/better known. The quality of the ingredients matched with the incredibly low price-tag has made their products multiple sell-outs. The product I have reviewed here; “Natural Moisturizing Factors +HA” was purchased via CultBeauty.co.uk after joining a waiting list for a month. It did not disappoint. The product has a feel of that 4, 5, 6 times the price and looking closer at the ingredients its clear why.

Before looking more at the ingredients it’s also worth mentioning that it’s Vegan, Cruelty Free, Silicon free, Nut free & Alcohol free. This amino acid rich formula really is worth its weight in gold. It includes;

Caprylic/capric triglycerides – a specific fraction of coconut oil, fatty acid
Arginine – important amino acid in the healing of wounds & cell division
Alanine – It is used in a wide variety of cosmetics and personal care products as a skin conditioning agent, anti-static agent and masking ingredient, and as an amino acid, may combine with the epidermal cells to fill up creases, and thus provide the surface of your skin with a smoother appearance. (Truth in Aging)
Sodium Hyaluronate – The salt of hyaluronic acid which is discussed briefly in the video. The salt has a much smaller molecular structure than the acid itself meaning it can more easily penetrate the skin & deeper. HA is a naturally occurring substance in the body and holds 1000x its weight in water

It really is worth checking out their website at http://theordinary.com/ where there is something for all skin types and ailments.

11264666-1614379870904414Illamasqua Hydra Veil – Part Primer, Part Hydrator. This is a lot higher on the price-tag scale but shouldn’t be compared with The Ordinary’s moisturiser. They are completely different but both incredible in their own ways. If you have watched the video you will know I am completely in love with this stuff. It reduces the look of pores and fine lines and keeps my makeup locked in all day.

This product is also Vegan & Cruelty free and also contains the wonder product that is Sodium Hyaluronate. Other ingredients and benefits include;

Niacinamide – A very effective skin-restoring ingredient with many benefits for ageing skin including improving the appearance of enlarged pores, uneven skin tone & fine lines.
Chlorphenesin – Anti-fungal and anti bacterial properties
3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid – Improves the formation of skin cell and collagen

This may be on the pricey side but this stuff is an investment. A little goes a long way and the fact it can help even the most stubborn of foundations glide onto your skin and stay all day makes it a must have in my book.

Have you tried either of these products? What was your view on them? Comment below and remember to subscribe to my blog and YouTube channel for more updates.
